CurlMix

CurlMix is the first Do-It-Yourself subscription box for curly hair. CurlMix teaches curly haired women how to make their own hair products. Each month CurlMix sends subscribers a kit that contains high-quality, all-natural ingredients for customizing their own hair products in just 15 minutes. Each kit comes with an instructional card and an explainer video.

In an industry that values blind consumerism, CurlMix encourages transparency. They encourage their subscribers to be mindful of the ingredients in their products and have the freedom to personalize their hair and skin treatments. The core belief of CurlMix is that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice integrity for beauty.

Created by husband and wife duo, Kim + Tim Lewis, CurlMix completed 1871’s Women in STEM program, founded as part of the Google for Entrepreneurs’ #40Forward initiative.
